Day 1
Sunday, June 20th

Departure from Dallas
Relax and enjoy the full meal service on board your overnight flight to Rome.


Day 2
Monday, June 21st

Arrival Rome (3 Nights)
You will be met at the airport by your guide and transferred to your hotel in the centre of Rome and after time to check in and freshen your guide will be happy to escort you on a brief orientation tour of the Eternal city.

Day 3
Tuesday, June 22nd

Ancient Rome
Rome is so rich in treasures that many consider it to be the most magnificent city in the world. Today will be spent visiting the ancient sights of imperial Rome but we begin with a brief visit to Church of San Pietro in Vincoli, whose treasures include the Michelangelo¹s Moses and the Chains that Bound Saint Peter. From here it is a short walk to the great Colosseum, the grandest and most famous of Rome's monuments. Nearby stand the ruins of the Forum, with its many temples, Basilicas and arches that lie below the Palatine Hill. After a break for lunch we continue past the Mamertine Prison and on to the Capitaline Hill to view the beautiful Piazza designed by Michelangelo before descending the steps to Piazza Venezia and on to the Pantheon, Rome¹s most beautiful and complete ancient building.

Day 4
Wednesday, June 23rd

Vatican and St. Peters
We begin today with a visit to the Vatican Museums which houses one of the most impressive collections in the world including the Michelangelo's magnificent ceiling in the Sistine chapel. From here we will visit St. Peters Square, where the majesty and size of St. Peter¹s Basilica is unforgettable. You are sure to be left breathless upon entry. It also contains many treasures and masterpieces including Michelangelo's Pieta and there will be the opportunity to take the lift to the top of the dome for spectacular views over the city of Rome. After a tour of the Basilica we return to the city centre where you will have the remainder of the day free to explore Rome at your leisure. This evening we will visit the world famous Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps.

Day 5
Thursday, June 24th

Roma to Firenze via Train
Explore Florence, the Duomo, the Arno River, etc. And shop for leather goods???

Day 6
Friday, June 25th

Firenze
We begin the day in the Piazza del Duomo where we can visit the Duomo and you will have the opportunity to ascend the steps to the top of the dome or alternatively climb to the top of the Campanile for spectacular views over the roof tops of Florence. When we return to the ground we will explore the local area before stopping for a lunch break. In the afternoon we visit the Accademia to view the beautiful Statue of David and the evocative series of sculptures known as the Slaves, both by Michelangelo. After a short visit here you will be free to explore Florence at your leisure or join an optional tour to the Church of Santa Croce, situated in a beautiful square a short walk from the main city centre.

Sunday, June27th

Firenze to the Cinque Terre on the West coast of Italy
We depart from Florence via train to the coastal region known as the Cinque Terre. The name Cinque Terre translates loosely as the "Five Lands" and consists of five tiny sea-front towns strung along one of the most dramatic stretches of the Italian Coast. For centuries the towns were cut off from the outside world and the only access to them was by boat. Today, some villages still have no road links with the outside world but can be visited by foot or train. After checking into our hotel we will spend the remainder of the afternoon exploring the towns and coastal paths of this region.

Cinque Terre to Venezia (Venice) via train
After an early morning departure we travel to Venice where; on arrival we will check into our hotel before embarking on a brief orientation tour of the city followed by dinner.

Day 12
Thursday, July 1st

Venice
St. Marks Square is possibly one of the most famous squares in the world with its 9thC Bell Tower, the Clock Tower and the old Law Courts and our day will begin at its heart. The feature of the square however is St. Mark's Basilica with its Cupolas, arches and interior walls encrusted with impressive dark gold mosaics. On your tour of the Basilica you will visit the galleries where we will see the original Bronze Horses, which once adorned the facade; from the platform where the copies now stand we can enjoy the best possible view of the square and all her treasures. After lunch, our leisurely stroll will pass by the many famous bridges, including the Bridge of Sighs and the Ponte Rialto, before visiting the Doges Palace which was once the home of the ruling Doges, the law courts, the seat of Government, and a prison, but most importantly the symbol of power and glory for the once powerful Venetian Empire.

Explore and get "lost". This is the best place in the world to wander and get "lost" because there is SO much to see and photograph and you are on a small island, so it is impossible to actually get lost.

Day 14
Saturday, July 3rd

Venice to Annecy in the French Alps via train
After an early morning start, we embark from Venice Mainline rail station for the long train journey into France. Annecy is a famous destination for relaxation, shopping, snow-skiing, and much, much more!

Day 16
Monday, July 5th

Annecy to Paris via train
On arrival in Paris we will be transferred to our hotel by private coach before embarking on a brief orientation tour of the city which will involve a stroll through the Tuilleries Gardens and the Place de la Concorde to the world famous Champs Elysee ending at the Arc de Triomphe. This evening, visit the church of Sacre` Coeur in the artist's haunt of Montmartre and sit on the steps to admire the magnificent view over Paris. And, of course, the Eiffel Tower at night!

Day 17
Tuesday, July 6th

Paris
This morning you will visit the Musee D'Orsay, which houses one of the most impressive collections of impressionist paintings in Europe. You will stroll through the elegant St. Michelle and past the Sorbonne before stopping for lunch before an afternoon visit to the Cathedral of Notre Dame, where the energetic can climb the north tower for wonderful views of roof top Paris. Time permitting there will be an optional excursion to the Saint Chapelle. This evening there will be the chance to ascend to the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Today will be free to explore the city of Paris at your leisure with an optional tour to the Palace of Versailles on the outskirts of the city. This evening we will return to the Montmartre area for our final evening on Tour.

Friday, July 9th

Departure from Paris
An early morning departure, as we are transferred to Paris International Airport to board our return flight to Dallas.


We will meet many days over the following four weeks to develop film, print, critique, and reminisce of all the great things we shared on our Euro-Foto Adventure!
